Baptismal Preparation
The purpose of this program is to share the meaning and the necessity of baptism for the child, parents, godparents and community.  This is accomplished by explaining the rite itself and by encouraging the parents and godparents: to participate as fully as possible, to increase their knowledge of the Church’s tradition and teaching with a strong emphasis on the role of scripture and the sacraments in their lives.

Commitment:  Meets once a month on a Wednesday evening 7:30-9:00 p.m. in the parish office.  Preregistration is required.

Rewards:  A fuller Christian life of prayer and action for the parents and godparents that will set a good example and benefit the child, parents and godparents.


Religious Educators (Catechists)
Catechist teachers in our religious education program, and persons who assists the catechists in their role as teachers.

Commitment:  Teach or assist at weekly classes as well as special events for the children.

Rewards:  To pass on the beliefs of our faith to the children of our parish.


RCIA Core Team
A team of parishioners dedicated to providing an opportunity for those interested in participating in the RCIA process here at Prince of Peace.  It includes sponsors representing the parish for each catechumens/candidate and catechists who are willing to share their faith stories and Catholic beliefs with those interested in making the journey to becoming Catholic.

Commitment:  Meets every Sunday after the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Beginning in September at during the 10:00 a.m. Mass, catechumens/candidates are dismissed after the Liturgy of the Word along with the catechists to share their thoughts and insights on the Sunday readings.  (We have three teams of people. Each team facilitates once every three week).

Rewards:  Provides an opportunity to look at our beliefs in a new light, to strengthen our commitment to living out those beliefs, and to be truly grateful for our precious gift of faith.
