OCIA
OCIA—the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process by which adults are prepared for baptism and reception into the Church. The Inquiry phase begins in September each year, followed by the Catechumenate, Enlightenment and Mystagogy phases. The process includes celebration of several rites as the candidates and catechumens move closer to receiving the sacraments of Initiation at Easter. (Baptism, Confirmation and 1st Eucharist.)
Weekly evening meetings include fellowship with other candidates, and consist of viewing films/videos, sharing readings and fruitful discussion. The program includes an overnight retreat at Lourdes of Litchfield and four Lenten Sunday Sessions of Breaking Open the Word.
